When people think about music production, they often picture a DAW, a MIDI keyboard, synthesizers or an endless collection of plugins. While these tools play an important role, they are never where our creative process truly begins.

Every project starts long before the first note is written.

Before opening a session, we spend time defining the project’s creative direction. We explore the atmosphere we want to create, the emotions we want to communicate, and the overall identity that will guide every decision throughout the production process. Rather than creating sounds without purpose, we establish a clear foundation from the very beginning.

Pre-production allows us to answer the essential questions before any composition takes place.

What genre are we exploring? What tempo best supports the intended mood? Which musical scale fits the atmosphere? What kind of rhythmic movement should define the project? Every answer helps shape the direction before the creative work truly begins.

This stage also gives us the opportunity to study the characteristics of different musical styles. Every genre has its own strengths, limitations and creative possibilities. Understanding these elements helps us make more thoughtful decisions instead of relying on trial and error alone.

Having a clear vision before production not only saves time, but also creates consistency. Every melody, rhythm, texture and musical element has a reason to exist and contributes to a unified result.
